David Grant Memorial Tournament

The David Grant Memorial Tournament is a community-centered hockey event honoring the life and legacy of Dave Grant. David was a devoted family man, lifelong Potsdam resident, dedicated Town of Potsdam employee, and passionate hockey enthusiast. Known for his incredible strength, humility, and heart, Dave was a true hometown hero who bravely battled cancer and inspired everyone around him with his quiet determination and larger-than-life spirit.

This tournament brings together youth hockey teams in celebration of Dave’s love for the sport and his deep ties to the community. Proceeds will support the David Grant Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to one female and one male hockey player who demonstrate the same values Dave embodied: leadership, perseverance, and dedication to both sport and community.

This 3-day event is open to 14U Boys and 14U Girls divisions with a 4-game minimum. Expect a high-energy environment, standout matchups, and special recognition moments that celebrate the character and leadership that defined Dave’s life both on and off the ice.
Join us in honoring Dave’s legacy by celebrating youth athletes, fostering community pride, and continuing the traditions he held dear.
